17 Studio Book Design is the brainchild of an author who writes under two pen names. The first and widely known one is AD Starrling. The second is a closely guarded secret that requires a blood oath, a lock of hair from your first born child, and a lifetime supply of cake. Strawberry frosted preferably.

So, why book cover design? Well, you could say it’s always been in my blood. I just didn’t know how much until two years ago, when I started doing my own designs, including all the covers for my second pen name as well as my websites, logos, ads, and teasers. In July 2018, I went ahead and got my Adobe Certified Associate exam. 17 Studio Book Design was born in October 2018.

What can you expect from me? Stunning, professional covers that fit your genre. I’ve been a reader for over 30 years and an author-publisher-marketer for over 6 years, so I know how this business works.

Will I give you the book cover that you ask for? Yes and maybe. What you want may not be what’s best for your book and it’s up to me as your designer to work with you to produce a cover that not only does your story justice but also sells. Because at the end of the day, that’s what a book cover needs to do. It needs to catch the right reader’s eye and make them want to read more.
